I injured my knee skiing. James and Tess were excellent all the way through my care. ACL reconstruction and significant meniscus repair. The team were with me at every stage and the treatment was superb. James and his team were very informative and supportive and I was well informed and put at ease at every stage. Thank you so much. Rehab continues but am slowly returning to normal activities.

From the first time I met Mr Young I felt at ease in his care. He took time to explain my injury, the subsequent surgery I required, and I have received great aftercare following the operation. Nothing ever felt rushed, and the service I received has been excellent. I would not hesitate in seeing Mr Young again if the need ever arose and would highly recommend Mr Young to others.

I felt comfortable with Mr Young from the first initial consultation. He took time to explain each of the surgical options available, detailing the benefits and associated risks of each. I really appreciated the details he shared when explaining the partial knee replacement procedure and felt assured that it was the correct decision. His cheerful “bedside manner” made me feel that he really wanted to help me and enjoyed his work. The theatre team were excellent, I had not experienced a spinal anaesthetic before and they were very careful to lead me through the process. I felt very involved in the procedure; not anxious or stressed in any way. Everyone at the Nuffield Hospital, from the Receptionists to the Nurses, the Radiographers to the Porters who wheeled me to and from theatre and x-ray were really helpful and considerate. Tess (Mr Young’s PA Medical Secretary) was incredibly efficient, scheduling my appointments at times that best suited me. She was always cheerful and that goes along way when you are the patient. My physiotherapists (Alex and David) were both great. They gave me clear directions on how to achieve the most effective recovery and answered all my questions in a way that I could understand and get most benefit from. I really cannot find any fault in the consultation, procedures I experienced and aftercare that I received.
